QS World University Rankings

QS EECA, university rankings for emerging countries in Europe and Central Asia, evaluates 500 universities from 30 countries. The Rector of SPbPU A.I. Rudskoy commented: "The interest in QS on behalf of universities from Russia, Central Asia and Eastern Europe reflects the fact that the universities in these regions are increasingly recognized on the global educational arena. We exercise an active policy designed to increase the academic reputation of the Polytechnic University and of our graduates for employers. It comprises the foundation of the ranking methodology".

In addition to the two main parameters, the Rector noted, there were some other parameters which determined the position of the university in the rankings. Among them were the ratio of the academic teaching staff and students, web-indicators, citation ratio, the number of publications per employee and the number of employees with a degree. Regarding the international activities, the key parameters were the proportion of international students and the proportion of international teaching staff.

"We are actively developing international activities, extending the network of foreign universities - our strategic partners. Over the last year the recognition of our university achievements has significantly increased among the international academic community. We realize our competitive advantages and actively develop them," - concluded Andrey Ivanovich.
