QS World University Rankings 2016/2017 estimates Universities according to six parameters, which differently define the position of the University in the rating. Some of the main parameters are academic reputation of the University (40%), student-to-faculty ratio (20%), employer reputation of the University (10%). Furthermore, citations per faculty (20%), international student ratio (5%) and international faculty ratio (5%) are also assessed in the rankings.

SPbPU Rector of A.I. Rudskoy claimed: “The improvement of our positions in the international rankings is the result of the great job of the University team. Polytech pays special attention to internationalization, which has been reflected in the rating: with regard to the international student ratio, our University has reached the Top-350 for the first time – and that is a very good result. We intend to make our University open and comfortable for international students to study and work. In the future we are planning to concentrate on improving the parameter of academic reputation”.
