Issues of Training Specialists in Technosphere Safety and Environmental Engineering Were Discussed in SPbPU

From 7 to 9 April, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University hosted a meeting of the Northwestern branch of the Federal Academic Association in the Higher Education System on the extended set of professions and fields of training 20.00.00 "Technosphere Safety and Environmental Engineering".

Representatives of more than 30 Russian universities, in which specialists in the field of Technosphere Safety are trained, discussed problems of education in this field with the emphasis on labor safety, structure, and quality of educational and professional standards, professional educational programs, and also directions of improving education in this field. Representatives of special-purpose committees from the Government of Saint Petersburg, the Main Office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, and from the State Labor Inspectorate also took part in the meeting.

During the meeting, the participants analyzed problems of training in the field of Technosphere Safety in the light of establishing new professional standards for workers and changing requirements for universities' educational activity. They discussed and approved the draft of the Statute of the Northwestern branch of the Federal Academic Association in the Higher Education System on the extended set of professions and fields of training 20.00.00 "Technosphere Safety and Environmental Engineering", and chose staff for this new department.
