On October, 22, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University started classes on a professional development training program: "Improving the competitiveness of students within the youth policy and social planning."

For 10 weeks, the participants will learn different trends in the youth policy, forms of its implementation in the country and at university, will know about the possibilities to cooperate with public authorities, will master their leadership skills, etc.

Among the speakers are the representatives of the government, university professors, leaders of student unions and the heads of the Office of Student Affairs of the university.

During the opening of the educational program the director of the Department of Teaching and Learning Activities K.V. Guzenko highlighted the demand of such courses in the development of the youth movement, and emphasized the role of students in cooperation with the university, and the municipal and government authorities. "You are future leaders of our country!" he began the educational process for the students.

The program aims to help students choose their areas of interest to put their own ideas into practice, to form a complete image of the youth policy in the university and to provide necessary mechanisms for social planning at different levels.

Upon completing the lectures, the students will receive a certificate of professional development training. In future, any student or graduate will be able to attend the course of the educational program, which will be held every term.
