The Working Group “Support of Foreign Experts” Met at SPbPU

At the end of February the working group “Support of Foreign Experts” of the Global Universities Association met in Peter the Great Saint-Petersburg Polytechnic University. The representatives of more than 20 leading Russian universities, including National Research University Higher School of Economics, ITMO University, National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, MISIS, Kazan Federal University, Ural Federal University, Samara State Aerospace University and others, took part in the meeting.

The Working Group Support of Foreign Experts Met at SPbPU

Peter the Great Saint-Petersburg Polytechnic University is the leader of the project “Effective services of professional and social support and involvement of international experts of different categories in the universities participating in the project of competitiveness growth of the leading Russian universities”. The project is being carried out according to the order of the State Autonomous Sociological Research Center and recommendations of the Global Universities Association.

During the first stage of the project, extensive analytical research was made to study foreign and Russian experience in creating support services of international experts; a report about the research results was prepared, including five cases of successful creation, introduction and functioning of a system of professional and social support of international experts in foreign and Russian universities. On the basis of this research, there were developed methodological guidelines for introducing one of the models of services to support and involve international experts in Russian universities; a set of standard regulatory materials was prepared.

During the meeting, the representatives of SPbPU informed the working group about the status of the project and experience of the Polytechnic University in organization of international experts’ support. They presented the prepared materials and the program of carrying out the approbation and introduction of the methodological guidelines and materials.

The participants of the meeting shared their experience in creation of the international experts’ support system in their universities, discussed the results of the project and the approbation program. The final version of the approbation program was prepared for approval by the project originator. The members of the working group confirmed their readiness to carry out the approbation, adapt to their conditions and introduce certain elements of one or another model of the international experts’ support services.

The executive director of the Global Universities Association, I.G. Karelina stated the high level of the project execution, developed materials and organization of the working group meeting. The formal letter of gratitude was sent to SPbPU by the Global Universities Association.
