SPbPU at the 3d International Technology Forum "Innovations. Technology. Production"

From 4 to 6 April in the town of Rybinsk (Yaroslavl Oblast), the 3d International Technology Forum "Innovations. Technology. Production" (ITF-2016) was launched; the main subject of the Forum was developing advanced manufacturing technologies. The Forum was visited by representatives of several departments of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University: the Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technologies, Computer Engineering Center (CompMechLab®), and science and technology complex "Welding and Laser Technologies".

On 5 April, an open lecture by A.I. Borovkov on "Bionic design in engineering" took place within the Forum. Many examples of real "bionically designed" and "printed" metal parts, made by CompMechLab® engineers, were given in the lecture.

On 5-6 April the Forum proceeded with the subject sections: "Digital design and modeling", "Additive technologies", "New materials", "Industrial internet" and others. Representatives of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University actively participated in round-table discussions and other events at ITF-2016. In one of the most popular sections of the Forum – "Additive technologies" – principle engineer of CompMechLab® Mikhail Zhmailo and chief engineer of SPbPU science and technology complex "Welding and Laser Technologies" Konstantin Babkin gave speeches. SPbPU employees presented their works jointly with representatives of the real sector of the economy.
