On July 4, 2016, a delegation from the State Research Center of the Russian Federation – Concern CSRI Elektropribor visited Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. During the meeting with the Concern delegates, SPbPU Rector A. I. RUDSKOY, Vice-Rector for Innovative Projects A. I. BOROVKOV, Acting Vice-Rector for Research O. I. IPATOV, and Vice-Rector, press-secretary D. I. KOUZNETSOV summarized the implementation of joint projects and discussed future directions for cooperation.

The SPbPU Rector talked about the educational process, discussing distance learning methods and the practice-oriented approach to expert training. "The faster students get practical experience at an actual enterprise, the faster they will get the knack of their profession and choose the path they want to follow based on the obtained knowledge and competence," the Rector explained. "Our cooperation will take the training of experts in high precision navigation, gyroscopy, gravimetry, and marine radio communication to a new level and significantly improve the human capacity of your enterprises," said A. I. RUDSKOY, proving the necessity of establishing a specialized department, which is already planned for the future.

V. G. PESHEKHONOV, Director General of Concern CSRI Elektropribor, talked about the enterprises of the Concern, implemented and future projects, and scientific cooperation with universities, including the Polytechnic University. According to the Director General, the cooperation with SPbPU is focused on physics, supercomputer technologies, predictive modeling, additive technologies, and economics.

The visit meeting resulted in signing an agreement that establishes cooperation between SPbPU and Concern CSRI Elektropribor in scientific research aimed at the implementation of new technologies, results of research, and projects, and in the implementation of joint educational programs. Not only will the Concern implement joint research projects with the university, they will also participate in the development of expert training programs and employ skilled workers at their enterprises.
