SPbPU Held a Seminar on Information Technologies for Educational Process Planning

With the winter holidays coming to an end, students are eager to find out the curriculum for the spring semester. Coordinating schedules of more than 2,000 teachers is a difficult task. Fortunately, there is special software for automated scheduling and educational process planning. In January 27-29, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University held a training session on the professional development program "Implementation of educational standards and educational process planning with the application of information systems of the Laboratory of Mathematical Simulation and Information Systems (MSIS)".

The MSIS Laboratory, which took part in the organization of the seminar, are the major developer of software for the automation of educational process management in educational institutions of various levels. The seminar was aimed at acquiring hands-on experience of working with the Plans software solution for the automation of educational process at a university, considering the need for teaching staff and workload optimization.

E.M. Razinkina, Prof., Doctor of Pedagogical Science, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs gave a report on behalf of the Polytechnic University. The MSIS Laboratory was represented by an entire delegation headed by I.M. Matsev, PhD (Physics and Mathematics).

In the course of the seminar, almost 40 delegates from universities of various Russian cities got acquainted with procedures of automatic data collection and filling-in of reports on the implementation of educational programs required for government accreditation of educational activity and with the basic functions of the Curricula model set; and examined the specifics, regulatory provision, and development of individual student curricula supporting the modular principle.

According to the results of the seminar, it was decided that the Polytechnic University will further hold such events in the future.
