Dear colleagues, associates!

On February 19, our university, founded in 1899 as St. Petersburg Polytechnic Institute, celebrated its 125th anniversary.

Every anniversary is an important milestone in the history of the university, we celebrate this event without pathos and fireworks, but with deep respect for its great history. For us it is an occasion to reflect on the path we have traveled and to make sure that we have not turned aside, but still implement the vision of the founders of St. Petersburg Polytechnic Institute. As we measure the next stage of its biography, we look back and «align positions» with those ideas about the necessity to develop strong national engineering education, which inspired the founders of the Polytechnic Institute — Sergey Witte, Vladimir Kovalevsky, Dmitry Mendeleev.

And today we can confidently say that we follow the precepts of our forefathers, worthily continuing their work. Nowadays Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University means advanced research, breakthrough technologies and developed infrastructure based on the best traditions of classical education and science.

The University is a leader as an engineering higher school in Russia and is among the first hundred universities in the world. But more than that, Polytechnic University provides an opportunity for a truly versatile, polyphonic education, where each field of knowledge has an enduring value and weight.

Today our main task is to ensure the economic, political and technological sovereignty of the country, to create an economy of innovation. And the main link here is the highly qualified specialists trained by our university, who possess a set of key competencies and are ready to start working immediately.

We are confidently moving forward and thanks to the coordinated actions of our professional team we have already achieved a lot. All achievements of Polytechnic University have a share of labor of every representative of our team of thousands — from top managers to ordinary employees.

Dear colleagues, we will be able to accomplish all tasks if we continue to work as a united team of like-minded people!
