Wang Qingsheng became Honorary Professor at SPbPU

On July 3, Professor Wang Qingsheng, Director of the Zhejiang Chinese-Russian Research Institute for New Energy Materials Technology, was awarded a diploma and the mantle of Honorary Professor of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.

Wang Qingsheng was born in 1972. He is a graduate of Polytechnic University with majors in Material Science and Physics and Chemistry of New Functional Materials. Mr. Qingsheng is a professor at Peter the Great St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University, a professor at Harbin Polytechnic University, a visiting professor at Central South University, and the head of the China-Russia joint laboratory. He is also director of the Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University’s educational and research base in China. Most recently, a large delegation from Polytechnic University led by Rector Andrei Rudskoi paid an official visit there.

Qingsheng manages two leading national projects under China’s National Science and Technology Program and one project on new strategic industries organized by the National Development and Reform Commission of China. He also directs five leading international cooperation projects.

The main areas of Wang Qingsheng’s research are the analysis of thermoelectrochemical properties of materials, the study of high-temperature spheroidization and modification of material surfaces, and the study of new battery technologies. The Chinese scientist has published more than 60 scientific articles. He holds more than 30 patents and scientific results. Between 2014 and 2023, Wang Qingsheng created 10 scientific and educational platforms together with SPbPU.

At the ceremony of presenting the mantle and diploma of Honorary Professor during the session of the Academic Council, Mr. Qingsheng addressed the audience in Russian: I would like to say a big thank you to the Polytechnic University staff for appreciating me and my work so much. It is an honor and a great responsibility for me. I have no doubt that we will develop and strengthen Russian-Chinese scientific relations. And I firmly believe that we have strong cooperation between our countries ahead of us.
