Polytechnic University wishes you a Happy Chinese New Year!

Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is one of the most significant and joyous events in the Chinese calendar. During this period, families come together to celebrate, exchange gifts and enjoy traditional foods. It is a time when we express gratitude for the past year and hope for prosperity and good fortune in the year to come.

Last year was a year of great achievements in developing and strengthening the relationship between SPbPU and our Chinese partners. SPbPU is actively developing cooperation with China in the most important areas of science and education. We held many seminars, accelerators, summer and winter schools. Chinese students are finally visiting Polytechnic again after the pandemic to have an opportunity to personally familiarize themselves with the university’s achievements.

The Chinese New Year also symbolizes new beginnings and opportunities. This year saw the opening of the Joint Polytechnic Institute of SPbPU and Xi’an University of Technology. This grandiose project was made possible thanks to the warm and long-standing friendship between our universities. The Rector of SPbPU, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Chairman of the St. Petersburg Branch of the RAS Andrei Rudskoi signed a cooperation agreement with the Shanghai Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to expand academic exchange between the research institutes of our countries. We encourage each of you to use this time to reflect on your goals and aspirations, and to make plans for the future. May this year be filled with achievements, successes and wisdom.
