International office in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province

Opened in 2022 at the Jiangsu Research Institute of Industrial Technology in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. Operates with the support of the National Innovation Center par Excellence — Yangtze Delta.

Main activities of the office:

1. Expanding partner network of the Polytechnic University in the Yangtze River Delta region: Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang provinces and Shanghai city.
   Search for new partners, establishing and maintaining cooperation with leading universities and research organizations, industry, high-tech companies and innovative enterprises from the Yangtze River Delta region.
2. Promoting scientific, technological and innovative projects of the Polytechnic University in the Yangtze River Delta region.
   Holding seminars and project sessions with partners from the Yangtze River Delta region in areas relevant to the university research focus.
   Presentation of scientific, technical and innovative projects of the university at innovative exhibitions, thematic conferences, forums, symposiums held with support of the National Innovation Center of Excellence — Yangtze Delta and the Governments of the Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang provinces and Shanghai city.
   Demonstration of models of scientific, technical and innovative projects of the university in the Expo zone of global partners of the Jiangsu Research Institute of Industrial Technology.
3. Coordinating the programs for support of young scientists of the Polytechnic University (graduate students, postdocs) in partnership with the Jiangsu Research Institute of Industrial.

Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute (JITRI) is an application-oriented research organization and a high-tech investor in China, which was founded in 2013 by Jiangsu Province to promote industrial technology research and the commercialization of advanced scientific results. Since its establishment, it has created state-of-the-art institutional mechanisms facilitating technology transfer and discovered new channels for transforming scientific and technological achievements into tangible products. In 2021, JITRI became the operating entity of the National Innovation Center par Excellence (NICE) of China.

JITRI has established 72 specialized research institutes in the fields of advanced materials, energy & environmental science, information & communication technology, intelligent manufacturing, as well as biology & medicine, with around 12,000 R&D personnel in total. JITRI and its partner enterprises have coestablished 210+ Joint Innovation Centers, tasked with gathering industrial R&D needs, identifying technical gaps, and funding research projects to bridge these gaps. JITRI has thus far incubated 1150+ high-tech enterprises and has transformed more than 7,000 technologies into commercial innovations. On average, JITRI spends around 100 million USD annually in supporting applied research projects, industrial technology innovation programs and establishing new research institutes and sci-tech start-ups.

The NATIONAL INNOVATION CENTER par EXCELLENCE (NICE)— Дельта Янцзы (NICE) is a comprehensive national technology innovation center approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China. As the operating entity is the Shanghai Yangtze Delta Innovation Institute, NICE is jointly built with relevant institutions in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces. It is positioned to realize the transformation from science to technology, with the core mission of promoting key technology research in important fields. It promotes transfer, transformation and industrialization of scientific and technological achievements in collaboration with industries, universities and research institutes, and supplies technologies and commercialization services for industrial development of the Yangtze Delta region of China.
