Development of joint international scientific and educational centers and laboratories demonstrates the large-scale international and innovative activities of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University and also creates a platform for promoting science and education, and participating in joint initiatives in collaboration with key international partners.
The North-West Interuniversity Regional Educational and Scientific Center «Polytech-Cyberphysics» integrates the resources of leading universities, research organizations, and industrial enterprises to train highly qualified engineering personnel using the best global equipment and innovative online learning methods.

The laboratory conducts fundamental and applied research in the fields of telecommunications technologies and electronic engineering. The laboratory’s goal is to ensure the creation of breakthrough developments and technologies at the intersection of disciplines.

The center was established in 2023 based on a tripartite agreement between Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, the Zhejiang Chinese-Russian Engineering and Technology Research Institute, and the Government of Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.

Research in materials science: creation of smart materials (changing properties under environmental influences), nanomaterials, composites for electronics, medicine, and industry.
The technical laboratory, focused on applied research, is involved in both scientific and educational activities. The laboratory trains personnel and conducts research for Vietnam’s rapidly growing electronics industry

A structural division implementing the full cycle of engineering training in China according to Russian standards. Students study in English or Russian using programs developed by SPbPU, with the opportunity to continue their studies in Russia.

Joint internship center «TU Xian-Polytech» in cooperation with Xi’an Technological University, China
Practice-oriented platform for student and young scientist exchange. It allows Chinese students to complete short-term internships at SPbPU on specific engineering and scientific projects.
Joint Polytechnic Institute (JPI) XATU-SPbPU with Xi’an Technological University, China was established in 2014 to develop educational programs and scientific cooperation between Russia and China. The institute represents a unique model of joint education, allowing students to earn degrees from both universities, significantly expanding their opportunities in the international labor market. JPI XATU-SPbPU offers undergraduate and graduate programs in engineering, information technology, and other technical fields. Instruction is conducted in English, making it accessible to students from all over the world. The faculty includes both Russian and Chinese professors, facilitating knowledge exchange and cultural interaction. The institute actively participates in scientific research, conducting joint projects and conferences, allowing students and faculty to exchange experiences and innovations. JPI XATU-SPbPU also develops partnerships with industrial enterprises, providing students with the opportunity to complete internships and placements at leading companies. Thus, the joint polytechnic institute of Xi’an University of Technology and Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University is an important step in strengthening educational ties between Russia and China, facilitating the development of highly qualified specialists prepared for work in a global context.
