Polytechnic University has been included in the federal Priority 2030 program

The decisions on each university were made most carefully. We did not evaluate current achievements or reputation and academic achievements. We evaluated the program, its feasibility, the rector and the team, and, of course, correlated it with the national development goals of our country and the regional agenda, Valery FALKOV, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, focuses on the qualitative characteristics of the winners' development programs.

Rector of SPbPU Andrei RUDSKOI comments on SPbPU participation: We have invested a lot of effort, new ideas and the best competencies of Polytechnic University in our development program, involved a wide range of university representatives and partners in the design of our areas and projects, showing both already developed topics and new ones. Thanks to this we passed the first stage. Now we are actively preparing to worthily present our strategic research projects at the Council for Support of Development Programs within the framework of the Priority-2030 program. The key focus of our strategy is R&D, systematic work with the regions, and interaction with industrial partners to bring fundamental developments to TRL 8-9. For this, we have our competencies, strong operating consortiums, a network of mirror engineering centers that have already shown their effectiveness and ability to bring products into series production.

Universities will be able to use a special grant to ensure breakthrough research and the creation of science-intensive products and technologies, including building human resources capacity in the research and development sector, as well as ensuring socio-economic development of territories and strengthening the human resources and scientific and technological potential of organizations in the real economy and social sphere.

Universities should move from important personnel tasks to a research and innovation agenda. To teach modern knowledge, skills, and abilities, the university itself needs to be at the frontline of research and innovation activities and innovative agenda, believes Andrey VOLKOV, Academic Advisor of the Priority-2030 federal program.

In its development program, Polytechnic is keeping up with global trends and federal priorities. We have tried to incorporate our most promising practices - development of the ZIC network, developments in customization of education, individual educational tracks, online programs, and project activities - as well as international best practices - agile management tools, social scoring for personnel development, new financial instruments. In our strategic research projects, we have also declared a topical agenda: accelerating the market launch of new products through digital technologies, safe and environmentally friendly materials and equipment for energy, research platforms to accelerate the launch of preclinical studies of new drugs and vaccines, artificial intelligence for human safety and comfort, and other developments. We hope this will help us fully implement our development program, reacting flexibly to changes and global challenges, notes Maria Vrublevskaya, Head of Strategic Planning and Development Programs at SPbPU.
