Polytechnic University is second in Russia in engineering and third in physics and economics in THE ranking

In the world rankings a breakthrough was made in the direction of engineering and economics

and business. While last year Polytechnic ranked 201-250 in these two areas, this year it moved up to 151-175 positions.

There were 1,306 universities from around the world participating in this year’s engineering cutoff. Despite increasing competition, we continue to grow in this sub-rating, which confirms our status as a leading engineering university, commented Rector of SPbPU, RAS Academician Andrei Rudskoi. We strive to provide advanced engineering education and pay special attention to the development of our own sensors, engineering software, and materials for the oil industry, which will help ensure the country’s technological sovereignty.

This year, for the first time, SPbPU entered the sub-ranking for social sciences and ranked 301-400, thus confirming its status as an interdisciplinary university.

For reference:

The Times Higher Education (THE) ranking is one of the world’s most authoritative university rankings, published by the British agency of the same name. The same 13 indicators as in the global ranking are used to assess the effectiveness of a university by individual subjects, with a slight change in weights depending on the subject area: teaching, research, citations, income from innovation, international cooperation.
