28 January 2022 Achievements 1200

Tatiana KUDRYAVTSEVA, professor at the Higher School of Engineering and Economics at SPbPU, successfully defended her dissertation at Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia, and received a Ph.D. degree in business. The defense was conducted online. The work of the SPbPU professor was devoted to cluster industrial policy in a transitional economy to ensure economic growth in Russia.

The research on the thesis lasted for several years. It was a tremendous scientific and practical experience of working and conducting research with colleagues from European universities. Joint research took place thanks to the organizational and financial support of the publication activity of SPbPU professors as part of the 5-100-2020 Program, — Tatiana KUDRYAVTSEVA noted.

SPbPU professor Tatiana Kudryavtseva received her Ph.D in business from Tallinn University of Technology

The research supervisor was Dr. Gunnar Klaus PRAUSE from the School of Business and Management at the Tallinn University of Technology; the co-principal investigator was Dr. Eunice Omolola OLANIYI from the Center for Marine Research of the University of Turku (Finland). Colleagues from the University of Lisbon (Portugal) and the University of Applied Sciences of Western Norway Dr. Cristina SOUSA and Dr. Maryna Z. SOLESVIK acted as opponents.

Thanks to the extensive partner network of Polytechnic University, we worked in close contact with our European colleagues, had the opportunity to promptly exchange relevant data and discuss problematic issues. All this contributed to more in-depth research results, which are presented in the thesis and in joint publications. I am sure that any scientific research is a process of long and fascinating discussion and joint creative work with colleagues, — emphasized Tatiana KUDRYAVTSEVA.

Polytechnic University has been actively cooperating with Tallinn University of Technology for about 20 years, during this time, joint seminars and research projects were held, visits of delegations and student and teacher exchange programs were conducted. The cooperation in research areas is also developing dynamically.

Strengthening the positioning of Polytechnic University in the international educational space allows adopting the experience of foreign colleagues and sharing their best practices. This contributes to new results and the creation of new points of growth. Over the years of its active work, the Institute of Industrial Management, Economics, and Trade has achieved significant success in the development of the University’s partner network, largely due to productive cooperation with international services and other departments of SPbPU. I hope that soon more polytechnics employees will be able to enter international dissertation defenses and conduct research in advanced international consortia, said Vladimir SHEPININ, Director of the Institute of Industrial Management, Economics, and Trade.
