SPbPU is among the leaders of the Priority-2030 program

Polytechnic University was included in the first group of universities — recipients of grants of the Priority-2030 program.

According to the results of the meeting of the Expert Council of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, 119 universities out of 142 that submitted their updated development programs will receive grants of the Priority-2030 program for a total of 30.5 billion rubles. The largest funding in the amount of 1 billion rubles each will be received by universities of the first group, which includes Polytechnic University.

From 2025, the Priority-2030 program to support universities has been relaunched with a focus on achieving technological leadership of Russia by combining the efforts of the state, business and universities to create joint projects. The updated Priority-2030 program includes 10 target performance indicators, including a new indicator — the integral index of technological leadership (ITL). ITL is calculated on the basis of the volume of extra-budgetary R&D and scientific and technical services, commercialization of the results of intellectual activity and the work of small innovative enterprises.

Each university included the section «Strategic Technological Leadership» in its comprehensive development program, identifying three strategic technological projects.

The main emphasis in the Polytechnic University Development Program is placed on the systemic development of a qualified partnership model in all basic processes of the university. The SPbPU team will address the task of ensuring technological leadership by focusing on three key scientific and technological areas (KSTA):

• KSTA-1 «System Digital Engineering» — development of technologies and products superior to foreign analogs based on digital twin technology and the Digital Platform CML-Bench^®
• KSTA-2 «New Materials, Technologies, Production» — creation of knowledge-intensive production facilities for repair and manufacturing of products for various purposes
• KSTA-3 «Artificial Intelligence for cross-industry problem solving» — development of digital platform solutions for analyzing multimodal data.

I congratulate the entire Polytech team on the successful defense of our Development Program and inclusion in the first group of leading universities. This is the result of our coordinated work on successful implementation of the Priority-2030 program projects, programs of the World-class Science Center, STI Competence Center and Advanced Engineering School, and then on development of the Development Strategy of SPbPU, which has undergone comprehensive expertise, including obtaining an expert opinion of the Russian Academy of Sciences, commented Rector of SPbPU, Academician of the RAS Andrei Rudskoi. The approved Development Strategy is the basis for the Development Program of our university until 2030 and in the future until 2036. Formed teams with competencies and experience in solving breakthrough scientific and technological problems, established scientific and scientific-technological backlog and established effective qualified partnership with industry both in solving frontier engineering problems and in training engineering personnel for high-tech industry will help us to achieve all the indicators of the updated Priority-2030 program and make a breakthrough in the scientific and technological sphere aimed at ensuring technological leadership.
