In April the results of hh.ru ranking «The Best Universities of Russia 2022-2023», became known, where Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University took the first place among the universities of the Northern Capital and the fourth place among all Russian universities as the best university for training highly qualified personnel demanded in the national economy. It should be noted that only two St. Petersburg higher educational institutions out of 38 are in the top 10 of the Russian ranking (Polytech is ahead of St. Petersburg State University by four positions). In total, 411 Russian universities are represented in the 2023 ranking, which is 43 more than a year earlier.

Polytech can be confidently called a university that performs a large-scale socio-economic function for the country — our mission does not end with the issuance of a diploma. After all, the years spent within the walls of our alma mater are project activities, internships, cultural life, sports activities, and much more. We make sure that our graduates find their place in professional life, get a dream job and contribute to the national economy, emphasizes Rector Andrei Rudskoi.

Polytechnic University regularly holds career guidance events, job fairs and meetings with industrial partners and employers. Last month, Polytechnic University hosted the 10th Youth Career Forum, and this month the Gazprom Job Fair was held at Technopolis Polytechnic — and that’s not all that Polytechnic is preparing this spring for its students.

We often receive positive feedback from our employer partners about our graduates. The quality of our students’, graduates’ and employees’ human capital is one of the most important priorities for Polytech. To this end, we have been actively developing project activities and engaging our students in research and development tasks since the second year of their studies — we focus on this in our development program as part of the Priority 2030 program. The expansion of educational opportunities through individual educational paths, free of charge professional development programs for students and mechanisms of prospective technological projects support — this is only a part of university’s investments in training specialists for science intensive industry, Maria Vrublevskaya, the Head of Strategic planning and development programs department commented on the rating results.

For reference:

The ranking is compiled on the basis of ranking of the universities in accordance with the total score obtained in five parameters:

  1. Popularity of the university in its region
  2. The employers’ demand for the university graduates
  3. The relative level of expected graduate salaries
  4. Total length of employment
  5. Current employability of graduates.
