Top 5 in Russia: SPbPU in THE WUR 2025 ranking
The British agency Times Higher Education has published the results of the World University Ranking 2025. St. Petersburg Polytechnic took 5th place in the ranking among all Russian universities.

Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University took 5th place in the national ranking of Russian universities, and in the overall ranking of world universities it is in the group of places 501-600. Polytechnic University’s work on knowledge transfer was particularly effective: the university received twice as many points for the number of registered patents for inventions as a year earlier.
In addition, SPbPU received a high score for its international activities. Also, compared to the indicators of the same ranking last year, the income from research and development work in relation to the number of teaching staff increased by 5%.
Now our focus on applied research and development is already beginning to be reflected in international rankings. Today, it is partnership with industry and technology transfer that are our strengths, which give us an advantage in the competition. However, publication activity, especially in terms of high quality articles, where applied knowledge is in high demand, can also be one of our areas of development
, comments Andrei Rudskoi, Rector of SPbPU.
