Double success: the first graduates of SPbPU and Lanzhou University of Finance and Economics received their diplomas
The Institute of Industrial Management, Economics, and Trade at SPbPU hosted the first graduation ceremony for bachelor’s degree students enrolled in the international dual degree program with Lanzhou University of Finance and Economics (China).
The defense of final qualifying works in the field of economics (specialization in finance) was conducted in English on the campus of Lanzhou University of Finance and Economics in Gansu Province. Students presented the results of their research on topical issues in finance, economic analysis, and investment management. The examination committee from SPbPU included Dmitry Rodionov, Director of the Graduate School of Industrial Economics at IIME&T, Daria Krasnova, Associate Professor at GSIE and Program Director, and Associate Professors Ekaterina Burova and Evgeny Konnikov from GSIE. The committee members highly praised the level of preparation of the graduates.
The joint final assessment is a striking example of successful academic cooperation. Each defense becomes not just an exam for students, but an important step in strengthening scientific and cultural ties between our countries. We highly value our partnership with our Chinese colleagues and are confident that it will continue to develop, opening up new opportunities for students and teachers, commented Dmitry Rodionov.
During the award ceremony for the best graduates, student Zhang Liwen was awarded a third-degree badge of academic excellence. Student Zhang Xinzhan received gratitude for the responsible performance of his duties as a student representative during his two years of study in St. Petersburg.
It is a great honor for me to participate in the joint defense of final theses between our universities,
said student Shan Yuhong. It was an invaluable experience that allowed me not only to present the results of my research to an international commission, but also to learn about Russian approaches to economics and finance. I would especially like to thank the teachers for their expert comments and recommendations, which will help me in my future academic and professional activities.
The joint educational program with the Chinese university is not only an academic exchange, but also a bridge between cultures. Today’s defenses showed how effective such a partnership is: students demonstrate unique competencies, and their research opens up new prospects for scientific cooperation. I would like to thank all participants in this project for their contribution to strengthening international ties!
