The university adheres to the educational strategy of «Three Seas and One Core» (development of shipping industry, naval equipment, marine research and nuclear power). It has made important contributions to China’s shipbuilding, nuclear industry, national defense modernization, economy and social development.

Cooperation between the universities has been developing since 2014, when an agreement was signed to train students (HEU students) in joint undergraduate educational programs in the fields of «Design and technological support of machine-building productions» and «Info-communication technologies and communication systems».

The purpose of the visit was to develop cooperation between our universities in the field of intelligent control systems, artificial intelligence and energy. The delegation was welcomed by Vladimir Khizhnyak, Head of the International Cooperation Department, representatives of the Graduate School of Cyber-Physical Systems Management, Graduate School of Nuclear and Thermal Power Engineering, Graduate School of Technosphere Safety and International Services of SPbPU.

Cooperation between Russia and China is becoming increasingly important, the proof of this is the past international forum «One Belt and One Road» in Beijing. We are also interested in organizing even more effective interaction between our universities, said Vladimir Khizhnyak.

The parties discussed the signing of an agreement on a joint educational program in the field of intelligent control systems, participation of HEU students in short-term programs of SPbPU, joint training of postgraduates and exchange of teachers.

Now Russian and Chinese students are very interested in short-term exchange programs. We are open to accepting students in almost all directions. And if we talk about joint educational programs, we will be able to consider different schemes of cooperation, said Olga Emelyanova, Head of the Department of International Educational Programs and Academic Mobility.

During the visit the Chinese colleagues also got acquainted with the scientific and technical potential of the university. They visited the laboratories of the Higher School of Cyberphysical Systems Management and the Supercomputer Center.
