Liu Limin, President of the Chinese Association for International Educational Exchanges under the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, walked around the Russian booths, including the Polytechnic University’ one, which this year was visited by more than half a thousand people. The participants showed maximum interest in the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs. In addition, many questions were asked about postgraduate programs, as well as scholarship opportunities. We are glad to take part in the exhibition and personally communicate with potential applicants and partners. Programs in engineering and natural sciences, digital and information technologies, energy, business and management have traditionally attracted great interest. Such events allow us to establish contacts with a number of foreign universities, and we hope for further fruitful cooperation, said Zarina Asadova.

The popularity of the exhibition is growing every year, and the reason for this is the growing interest of Chinese youth in studying abroad. The number of Chinese students studying at SPbPU is more than 2000 people. At the working seminar «Features of work on the Chinese education market» experts discussed the promotion of Russian education in China, interaction between Rossotrudnichestvo and Russian universities, as well as the admission of foreign students under the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation.

Conference “Russian-Chinese Innovation Cooperation”

After the China Education Expo, the SPbPU delegation visited Nanjing. On October 30, the conference «Russian-Chinese Innovation Cooperation in Higher Education, University Research and Industry Science Transfer» opened there. During the event, the participants discussed the prospects for the development of Russian-Chinese innovation cooperation in the field of higher technical education, scientific work of universities and transfer of scientific achievements to industry.

Zarina Asadova, Deputy Head of the Department of International Educational Programs and Academic Mobility, represented SPbPU at the conference, making a report on summer schools and internships for Chinese undergraduate and graduate students, which Polytechnic University implements for partner universities in China.

For many years Polytechnic University has been successfully developing and implementing individual training and internship programs for our partners in China. These are Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Xi’an University of Technology, Shanghai Maritime Transportation University, Jilin University, and others.

Studying at SPbPU in a full-time or distance format gives students the opportunity not only to gain knowledge in a foreign university, but also to immerse themselves in another culture and learn to work in an international team. It also allows students to retake ECTS credits at their home university as part of their main educational program. Polytechnic University has long been cooperating with leading global corporations and offers training of qualified engineering staff, joint scientific and technical developments and their implementation in production.
