Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Pavel Shevtsov visited SPbPU
Pavel Shevtsov, Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, paid a working visit to Polytechnic University. Rossotrudnichestvo is a leading Russian agency. Its main mission is to strengthen Russia’s humanitarian influence in the world. The organization is represented in more than 70 countries.

The excursion around the university began with the Main Academic Building. Dmitry Arseniev, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, and Valery Klimov, Director of the Museum of SPbPU History, introduced Pavel Shevtsov to the gallery of outstanding Polytechnic scientists, told about the most important events and interesting facts from Polytechnic’s history, and presented key exhibits. The Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo visited the White Hall and Fundamental Library of Polytechnic University.
Pavel Shevtsov familiarized himself with the structure of the Research Building «Technopolis Polytechnic», where he visited the «Semenov» and «Kapitsa» halls. Dmitry Arseniev also showed him a model of the SPbPU campus.
This was followed by a working meeting at the international campus of Polytechnic University. Pavel Shevtsov visited the Information Center, Admission Office and got acquainted with the procedure of admission of foreign applicants to SPbPU.

During the talks with international services they discussed the main issues of international education development, including the admission of foreign students within the quota of the Russian government. They also noted the application of SPbPU successful practices in the activities of the consortium «Russian-African Network University» to promote engineering education in African countries.
Special attention was paid to the issues of adaptation of foreign students in Russia, learning the Russian language, participation of Polytechnic University in the International Olympiad «Open Doors: Russian Scholarship». Pavel Shevtsov praised the university’s efforts in creating a comfortable environment for foreigners to study and live in, including the work of the Information Center, Admission Office and the Unified center for international students.

Shevtsov noted the importance of SPbPU’s work in attracting talented foreign students and scientists, emphasizing that the university is one of the flagships of Russian education and science.
Pavel Shevtsov thanked the university administration for the warm welcome and expressed confidence that the interaction between Rossotrudnichestvo and Polytechnic University will contribute to further development of international education and strengthening of humanitarian ties between Russia and other countries.
Dmitry Arseniev, in turn, expressed his readiness to actively develop partnership relations with Rossotrudnichestvo and support initiatives aimed at promoting Russian education abroad. The parties agreed to hold regular meetings to discuss current and new projects, as well as to work together on the realization of strategic objectives in the field of international cooperation.
