SPbPU and BRU have been strategic partners for more than 10 years

Over the years of the Slavic Universities project, extensive work has been done in key areas of cooperation: transportation systems, technosphere and environmental safety, construction, intelligent control systems, regional studies, welding technologies. Representatives of the specialized institutes are intensively cooperating with colleagues from BRU within the framework of implementation of the interstate project, which experts unofficially call «Slavic Horizon».

During the field practice students of the 2nd year of the Polytechnic Master’s degree program got acquainted with the equipment of the laboratories of the Belarusian-Russian University, listened to the lectures of the leading teachers, performed chemical analyses of water quality, conducted radiation monitoring of the university campus.

Master’s degree students of the Advanced Engineering School of SPbPU «Digital Engineering» got acquainted with specialized laboratories on additive manufacturing at the Belarusian-Russian University.

Master’s degree students studying in the program «Computer Engineering and Digital Manufacturing» worked on digital microscopes, studied different material structures and learned to determine by eye the structure of a material and the location of this structure on a Chernov diagram.

At the same time, Olga Antonova, Deputy Director of the Computer Engineering Center of SPbPU AIS, gave a course of lectures to the students of BRU on the topic: «Designing structures based on mathematical modeling approaches and methods of topological and parametric optimization».

Answers to questions on industrial and fire safety from CEI Associate Professor Anton Byzov at the Belarusian-Russian University

Anton Byzov, Associate Professor of the Graduate School of Technosphere Safety, presented a series of open lectures for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students of BRU and took part in the International Scientific and Technical Conference of Young Scientists «New Materials, Equipment and Technologies in Industry».

In his lectures Anton Byzov spoke about industrial and fire safety, including compliance with mandatory and voluntary requirements, as well as the use of risk analysis to justify safety measures.

Humanitarians of SPbPU for the Belarusian-Russian University

In November, the Higher School of International Relations of the Institute of Humanities hosted an internship for the students of the Belarusian-Russian University in the field of «Foreign Regional Studies».

In December, this time at BRU, Alexei Vovenda, Associate Professor of the Graduate School of International Relations of the Humanities Institute, delivered a course of lectures for Belarusian students studying in the field of «Foreign Regional Studies».

Third-year students of Belarusian-Russian University participating in the program of academic mobility in the direction «Civil Engineering» visited the Engineering and Construction Institute of SPbPU for internship.

16 employees of the department of «Industrial and Civil Engineering» of BRU received certificates of advanced training.

The delegation of SPbPU conducted educational and methodical and scientific internship in the direction of «Inspection and non-destructive testing of buildings and structures», in which the employees and students of the department «Technospheric safety» and «Industrial and civil construction» of BRU took part.

Within the framework of cooperation between Slavic universities, the staff of the Graduate School of Transport IMM&T SPbPU exchanged experience and best practices with BRU.

In November, representatives of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Materials and Transportation (IMM&T) paid a working visit to the Belarusian-Russian University. The purpose of the visit was to discuss the prospects of cooperation in the field of network educational programs, specifics of cooperation in scientific areas, opportunities for the development of transport infrastructure and implementation of intelligent transport systems within the framework of the Union State programs.

During the discussion new points of growth for the implementation of joint scientific and educational projects, improvement of methodological support of already implemented educational programs through the introduction of joint online courses into the educational process were discussed.

Innovative technologies for the BRU

Representatives of the Higher School of Cyber-Physical Systems and Control (HSCSC) Associate Professor Vyacheslav Potekhin, senior lecturers of HSCSC Elena Selivanova and Alexey Militsyn visited BRU at the end of the year to conduct a joint internship in the direction of «Management in technical systems» and a seminar on «Cloud-based distributed control systems» within the framework of the Roadmap implementation. The experts discussed current issues and prospects for the implementation of cloud technologies in the management of technical systems, which aroused keen interest among the participants.

Vyacheslav Potekhin gave lectures on «Application of digital twins and predictive analytics of abnormal situations in industry» for the students of training branches «Informatics and Computer Science» and «Software Engineering» of BRU.

It is also worth noting that 12 lecturers of the BRU were trained within the framework of the additional advanced training program «Digital production: control systems and technologies».
