Excursions around SPbPU for international students and postgraduate students
In June 2023, a cycle of lectures for foreign students and postgraduate students of SPbPU, dedicated to the outstanding milestones in the history of the university’s creation and development, took place. The series of lectures and excursions was organized by the SPbPU international Office together with the SPbPU History Museum as part of the anniversary year events.
The purpose of the excursions was to acquaint international students and postgraduate students with the history of St. Petersburg Polytechnic Institute established in 1899, the key historical figures and distinguished scientists of the Polytechnic Institute, the learning process and everyday life of the first students.

Five groups of international graduate and postgraduate students were able to get acquainted not only with the museum exhibit, but they also listened to a story about the architecture of the Main Building, took a walk around the campus, and toured the Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Students and graduate students from China, India, Algeria, Syria, Vietnam and other countries participated in the series of tours.

According to Dmitry Arseniev, Vice Rector for International Affairs of SPbPU, the series of tours of the SPbPU History Museum was one of the most important events for our foreign postgraduate students on the eve of the University’s 125th anniversary: We have organized these events together with the Museum as we believe it is very important to share our rich history and culture with our students. Only this way our Polytechnic University becomes truly native for them, so they can achieve full immersion in the scientific and academic life of the University. And it is very important that through the history of their university they learn much more about the great history of our country
