The largest group of bachelor’s and master’s degree students from Bishkek will study engineering disciplines at five institutes of SPbPU.

An official ceremony of admitting the second group of students from the B.N. Yeltsin Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU), who arrived to study in the format of a long-term internship within the framework of online educational programs, took place at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. This year, the university is hosting a record group of 50 people, which indicates a high interest in the Polytechnic University’s programs and the successful development of a strategic partnership between universities.

Nikita Golovin, Head of the Slavic Universities Project Office, opened the meeting with the students

This is the first time that the exchange program implemented within the framework of a state assignment has been expanded to such a scale. Last year, only undergraduate students studied at the Polytechnic University, but now the group includes both bachelor’s and master’s degree students. They will be trained in a wide range of engineering specialties:

  • Electric power and electrical engineering
  • Software Engineering
  • Applied Mechanics
  • Infocommunication technologies and communication systems
  • Electronics and nanoelectronics
  • Architectural environment design
  • Industrial and civil engineering
  • Energy-efficient heat and gas supply and ventilation systems
  • Technosphere safety

Five institutes of SPbPU took over the supervision of students: Institute of Civil Engineering, Institute of Cybersecurity and Computer Science, Institute of Energy, Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications and the Institute of Physics and Mechanics.

Nikita Golovin, Head of the Slavic Universities Project Office and Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Department, opened the organizational meeting with the students. He welcomed the guests from Kyrgyzstan and noted the importance of their arrival.

It is a great honor for us to host the largest group of students from our partner university, KRSU. By choosing Polytech, you choose the highest quality education and immersion in the rich scientific and cultural environment of one of the best technical universities in Russia. I am sure that this semester will be extremely productive and eventful for you, Nikita Golovin addressed the students.

The meeting was also attended by curators from the institutes that will accompany the educational process: Mikhail Romanov and Asiyat Eliseeva, Alexander Petrov, Alexander Bogdanov, Tatiana Kudryashova.

The specialists of the Department of International Cooperation of SPbPU informed the students in detail about the key organizational aspects of their stay in Russia: migration registration, obtaining medical insurance policies, mandatory procedures for foreign citizens, registration of student tickets and rules for connecting to university resources. To promptly resolve all issues, the group has been assigned curators from international services.

After the official part, representatives of the institutes introduced the students to the specifics of the curricula, and then gave them a tour of the campus.

The exchange program with the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University is an important part of SPbPU’s international activities and a clear example of successful implementation of state policy in the field of education and strengthening international relations with the CIS countries.
