Applicants from Asia, Africa, Central and Latin America continue to get to know Polytechnic University. Since mid-April, representatives of the SPbPU international Office have participated in five international educational fairs, held a series of presentations, webinars, live broadcasts and consulted more than 1,500 potential foreign applicants.

Alla Mazina, Deputy Head of the Office of International Education, held a presentation for foreign applicants in French

The 45th International Virtual Education Fair brought together people from more than 70 countries. The Virtual booth of Polytechnic University was visited by Pakistan, Oman, Costa Rica, Papua New Guinea, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Nepal, Mauritania and other countries. More than 60 people were interested in entering the Polytechnic University and all of them received detailed information about the University and its educational programs.

The next fair with the participation of Polytechnic University was held in the third decade of April. Begin Online Edu Fair was aimed at attracting potential applicants from Central America — Belize, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Mexico and Panama. In total, representatives of SPbPU held more than 130 consultations for potential foreign applicants.

A great success for Polytechnic University was the participation in the 7th Russian educational online fair «Study in Russia-2022» held in Mongolia. During its functioning, more than 8 thousand people visited the fair, 920 of whom showed great interest in the educational programs of Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD programs of Polytechnic University and asked questions about admission, features of education and infrastructure of the university campus. During 5 days of the fair, SPbPU representatives held online meetings with applicants, as well as live streams with foreign students and graduates, during which they shared their impressions about the university and plans for the future.

Within the framework of the 7th Russian educational online fair “Study in Russia-2022,” representatives of SPbPU held a series of educational events

For applicants and students from Central Asian countries the international fair Begin Group was held, which brought together participants from 18 countries. More than 900 foreign citizens connected to the presentations of Polytechnic University online. More than 100 of them left requests for detailed consultations and received them promptly.

Quite often representatives of the international office of SPbPU conduct webinars and presentations in the language of the countries where educational events are held. For example, in the Virtual Interactive Fair of Russian Universities in French-speaking countries of Africa the presentation of Polytechnic was in French. In total over 350 visitors from Cameroon, Congo, Chad, Cote d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco joined it. And a webinar for Turkish citizens, which SPbPU held jointly with the Sky Education recruiting agency, was held in Turkish and English.

Coming to study in a new country is a stressful factor for many, and our task is to answer all the questions that foreign candidates may have, to provide them with detailed consultations and ensure the most thorough acquaintance with the university. We try to speak to prospective international students in their language — both literally and figuratively. International Office’s staff conduct presentations and webinars in foreign languages. And we see that despite various external factors, foreign applicants’ interest in studying at SPbPU is quite high: every day we process numerous requests for various educational programs — undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate as well as pre-university training programs, said Evgenia Satalkina, Head of the International Education Department.
