PhD Students of SPbPU Have Internship at Hong Kong Polytechnic University

"11 applications from Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University have been submitted this year. We would definitely want as many PhD students as possible to try and participate in the project. In 2018, the competition will be announced in February or March, so I would recommend everyone to look for this information on the website and other official resources of SPbPU. Participating in international projects is a good opportunity for students, to work with international professors, get valuable and useful experience,"- Deputy Director for International Activities of IMET T.U. KHVATOVA, said. As the project coordinator she helped the students a lot with filling in and processing the necessary documents.

To take part in the competition you should write a motivation letter, describe the topic and aims of your research. Also, you have to provide a detailed curriculum vitae and a list of publications of your thesis supervisor. An appropriate thesis supervisor in Hong Kong will be selected for you by PolyU employees.

In 2017, the competition gave priority to technical and engineering professions, but an exception was made for Camille AGISHEV, a PhD student of the Institute of IMET: he will undertake an internship o in management. The topic of his project on risk evaluation caught the interest of the competition organizers and PolyU professors.

PhD students who had submitted applications for the PolyU competition were strictly examined by the contest committee. Financial support for the participants is provided by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University: participants get scholarships for covering their expenses during their practical study at PolyU. The internships lasts from 3 to 5 months.
