Polytech Helps Train Subject-Specific Teachers at RTSU
As part of implementing a joint action plan aimed at enhancing the quality of educational activities at the Russian-Tajik Slavonic University (RTSU) and transferring new competencies in training professional teaching staff, lecturers from the Polytechnic University conducted classes in three specialized fields—chemistry, physics, and applied informatics. These included lecture and practical classes for students, as well as advanced training courses for the faculty of the RTSU Natural Sciences Department.
The series of classes in the «Chemistry» track was conducted by Associate Professor of the Higher School of Biotechnology and Food Production, Irina Bazhenova. The advanced training course «Modern Approaches to Teaching Natural Sciences» was attended by six RTSU teachers and 3rd—4th year chemistry students.
The lectures and practical sessions covered interactive and digital methods, organizing experiments, and preparing school students for Olympiads, the Basic State Exam, and the Unified State Exam.
Participants showed high engagement, exchanged experiences, and gained new knowledge for pedagogical work. The course strengthened international ties, promoted the Russian scientific-pedagogical school, and laid the groundwork for future cooperation. All six RTSU teachers successfully passed the final certification.
The «Applied Informatics» section consisted of lectures and practical classes on the «Software Engineering» course (totaling 32 hours). The classes were conducted by Associate Professor of the Higher School of Software Engineering, Ivan Selin. The course aimed to acquire a body of theoretical knowledge and methodological foundations in software development, as well as practical skills necessary for competent management of software product creation processes at all stages of the lifecycle. This discipline is a crucial component of training specialists in information technology and software development.
Classes in the «Continuum Mechanics» discipline for 12 third-year students were conducted by Maxim Lobachev, Assistant at the Higher School of Mechanics and Control Processes (PhysMech SPbPU). Over two weeks, lectures and practical work using interactive and game-based formats were held (totaling 36 hours). Simultaneously, advanced training courses in the same discipline were conducted for three RTSU teachers.
Upon completing the training, students gained in-depth knowledge in continuum mechanics and learned to solve practical mechanics problems, while teachers acquired additional competencies in designing and organizing pedagogical activities in their specialized field.
During the visit, a meeting was also held with the Head of the Mathematics and Physics Department, Bakhtiyor Gulboyev, where current tasks, plans for 2026, and prospects for joint participation in conferences and educational projects were discussed.
