The SPbPU speaker was the Deputy Head of the Department for International Cooperation, Administrator of the Russian Academic Excellence Project 5-100 Nikita GOLOVIN. An invitation to participate in the program as a key expert was received from LUH based on previous experience of cooperation in implementing internationalization strategies. A lecture of the SPbPU expert was devoted to the features of international rankings and the development of an appropriate internationalization strategy at world’s leading universities. In the course of the seminar, participants discussed the impact of rankings on the development of the university and the changes that they could lead to.

The presentation by and large touched on the features and differences of the two institutional world rankings, i.e., the British QS World University Rankings and the British educational journal THE (Times Higher Education), their indicators and how to increase them. Representatives of international services of 16 leading Ukrainian universities from Kiev, Kharkov, Lvov, Sumy and other cities took part in the subsequent discussion.

“The issue of participation in international rankings is the key to promoting the university in the international space. SPbPU and LUH have long been jointly developing a strategy as part of a strategic partnership program and exchange experience and best practices in this area. Over the past few years, joint seminars, including with an emphasis on promotion in rankings, have been held on a regular basis. It is quite essential and valuable for us to act as LUH experts in the framework of such a large-scale educational program and to share our experience and success in promoting international rankings,” Nikita GOLOVIN pointed out.
