Polytech took part in Indonesia's largest educational exhibition
One of Southeast Asia’s largest education exhibitions, the 34th International Education and Training Expo (IIETE) 2026, has completed its work in Jakarta. The event, which has been held since 1992, once again brought together leading universities, educational organizations, as well as companies from the field of educational technology and professional training.
This is the second exhibition in Indonesia for Polytechnic University. Last time, a representative delegation of the university arrived in the country to hold the Polytechnic Days in Indonesia and participate in an educational exhibition in Surabaya. The exhibition in Jakarta has become a platform for demonstrating the possibilities of Russian higher education. SPbPU was represented by Evgenia Suvorova, a leading specialist in the Department for work with international students, and Zhanna Trunkova, a leading advertising manager at the Center for International Recruitment and Communications.
Over the course of four days, thousands of Indonesian applicants, students and their parents visited the booths of Russian universities. Engineering specialties, IT areas and economic programs aroused particular interest among the visitors, who are traditionally focused on obtaining high-quality education abroad. Participation of Polytechnic University in the IIETE exhibition, which attracts tens of thousands of visitors annually, allows the university to interact directly with motivated applicants from Indonesia and the entire region.
The business program culminated in the presentation session «Explore Study in Russia: Study, Scholarships, and Campus Life», dedicated to learning opportunities in Russia. Sergey Tolchenov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Indonesia, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. He stressed that educational cooperation today is a solid foundation for the development of bilateral relations between the two countries.
Nikita Shilikov, Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in Indonesia, spoke in detail about the admission procedure to Russian universities, including within the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation.
Russia and Indonesia are currently experiencing a truly historic moment in the development of bilateral relations. We see a dynamic rapprochement between our countries, the strengthening of humanitarian and academic ties, as well as the signing of an agreement on the mutual recognition of diplomas and scientific degrees. This opens up qualitatively new opportunities for the youth of Indonesia to receive education in Russia and further professional growth,
said Nikita Shilikov.
Participation in the 34th IIETE exhibition has strengthened the position of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University as one of the key Russian universities attractive to international students from the Asia-Pacific region.
