Polytechnic University delegation took part in the largest educational forum of the Republic of Uzbekistan
In June, the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted the World Youth Festival. One of the key events there was an international educational forum organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation and the Agency for Youth Affairs of the country.
Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University as one of the leading universities of Russia and a leader in engineering education, actively cooperating with universities and scientific and educational community of Uzbekistan for many years, was specially invited by the organizers to participate in this forum. The international event was held for several days in Tashkent and Samarkand and gathered over 320 representatives of universities, ministries and educational structures from several dozens of countries.

At the plenary session devoted to the evolution of education, Lyudmila Pankova, Head of Polytechnic University Delegation, vice-rector for educational activities, presented the best practices of engineering education development in Russia.
Maria Vrublevskaya, acting vice-rector for Advanced Projects of SPbPU, became one of the key speakers during the discussion on the value of human capital and overcoming inequality in employment and work.

Several business meetings of Polytechnic delegation with heads of leading universities of Uzbekistan and other countries took place at the forum.

Vyacheslav Potekhin, Deputy Director of the Higher School of Cyberphysical Systems Management, presented the scientific potential and results of SPbPU in the field of artificial intelligence in his report at the session «The role of AI in the Educational System: the impact of Neural Networks».
In addition to working at the forum, the SPbPU delegation paid a working visit to Samarkand State University (SamSU), a key partner of SPbPU.

A number of meetings and negotiations were held with the heads of SamSU and deans of specialized faculties. The main issues of strategic cooperation between SamSU and SPbPU are: research activities with access to joint high quality publications in international co-authorship, exchange of postgraduate students, organization of summer schools.

At the meeting with the leadership of the Institute of Human Resources Management and Municipal Development of SamSU, they discussed the task of training employees for local self-government, formation of modern management skills in them, which is topical for Uzbekistan.

Members of the SPbPU delegation held talks on joint activities of the two universities in a number of areas, including at the Technology Transfer Center and the Faculty of Information Technologies and Intelligent Systems of SamSU.
