Polytechnic University participates in the global summit in India
In late October, the AICGS-2024 (Annual International Conference and Global Summit) was held in Phagwara, India, which was dedicated to the transformation of international cooperation in the context of global challenges and sustainable development of universities. The event was held at the campus of Lovely Professional University (LPU), a partner of Polytechnic University and one of the largest private universities in India, and brought together representatives of leading universities from 30 countries. The main goal of the summit is to create a unique platform for scientists, researchers and academicians to exchange ideas on the theme «Global Horizons: Overcoming Borders, Building the Future».
The first day of the AICGS-2024 Summit began with a welcome address by LPU Vice President Aman Mittal and a keynote address by Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Founder and President of the university. There was also a Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony and panel discussions on «Transnational Education: opportunities, challenges and new models in India» and «Future of Education: creating global citizens through international collaboration». These events provided an important platform for discussing new educational models and strengthening international partnerships.
Olga Ergunova, Associate Professor of the Graduate School of Production Management of Institute of International Management, Economics and Trade, participated in the business program of the AICGS-2024 Summit. She gave a lecture on «Decision Making in Uncertainty: How to Manage Risks and Opportunities» and conducted a master class where LPU students gained practical skills in making effective managerial decisions in difficult conditions.
On the next day, a methodological seminar on submitting joint applications for the Russian Science Foundation grant competition in cooperation with the Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Science and Technology of India was organized for the summit participants. During the day, meetings were held with LPU students and professors to identify areas of scientific cooperation between partner universities.
The summit ended with campus tours and a meeting with Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal. In addition, Indian projects were selected for the finals of the international competition «Smart city 2030: managing sustainable urban development in BRICS countries», in which students and young scientists from partner countries participate.
The summit became an important platform for the partnership between Polytechnic University and LPU, and the negotiations laid a solid foundation for further joint projects and initiatives. The nearest plans of our cooperation include participation of LPU students in the project “Winter University on Engineering Sciences Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technology”, which will be held from November 25 to December 8 this year at Polytechnic University
