Preliminary results of the admission campaign for international students

The admission campaign for foreign applicants at Polytechnic University continues, which means that we can already summarize the preliminary results of enrollment in bachelor’s and master’s degree programs both on a contractual basis and under the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation.

SPbPU is one of the five most demanded universities in Russia among foreign citizens. Polytechnic University has considered more than 2600 applications for training at the expense of budgetary allocations of the federal budget under the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation. 301 applicants have already been enrolled. Based on the results of the annual International Olympiad «Open Doors: Russian Scholarship project», SPbPU received 120 applications for the winners, of which 94 candidates were considered and sent for training.

SPbPU Admission Office staff accepted and processed over 3,500 applications from applicants for contractual education. More than 900 applications were submitted for university Foundation Programs. 315 people were enrolled in bachelor’s and master’s degree programs.

Applicants from more than 100 countries chose Polytechnic University this year. Young people from the CIS countries (Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan), Africa (Algeria, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Ethiopia), China, Vietnam show significant interest in the main educational programs of Polytechnic University. Citizens from India, Angola, Mali, Togo, Zambia, Turkey, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Cambodia applied to the preparatory faculty.

The most popular majors were fundamental computer science, IT, software engineering and construction, nuclear power engineering, electric power and electrical engineering, management, economics, foreign regional studies, design, and linguistics.
