Results of admission of international students

The admission campaign for foreign applicants wishing to study in the main educational programs at Polytechnic University has been completed.

SPbPU is one of the most popular Russian universities among international students. Traditionally, applicants from China, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Egypt, Syria and Saudi Arabia show interest in Polytechnic University’s educational programs. This year there is an increase in the number of applicants from Africa and the Middle East.

SPbPU offers a wide range of study programs in English in various fields: engineering and technical specialties, IT, economics of digital enterprise, energy, management, international business. The most popular majors this year are IT, urban planning, design, info-communication technologies, economics, management, advertising and public relations, linguistics and regional studies.

In 2023, the admissions committee accepted more than two and a half thousand applications for admission from foreign citizens, including compatriots. 2200 people passed the entrance examinations. 1360 people were enrolled in bachelor’s degree and specialty courses, 531 people were enrolled in master’s degree programs. Of these, 386 people were enrolled under the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation.

This year, 76 foreign graduate students will start their postgraduate studies, 50 of them are enrolled on the budget, 23 of them are winners of the Open Doors: Russian Scholarship project, which is eight times more than in 2021.

We congratulate new students on their enrollment and wish all of them successful studies! We remind that foreign applicants can pass the selection and competitive events and win the opportunity to study at Polytechnic University for free (at the expense of the budget of the Russian Federation) in the next academic year:

• On September 1, applications for budgetary admission for foreign citizens by the direction of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation (by quota) began to be accepted. Detailed information about this can be found in the corresponding section on the official website of SPbPU.
• September 15 marked the start of the first selection stage of the Open Doors International Student Olympiad: Russian Scholarship project for those who want to continue their studies in Master’s degree and PhD programs (application deadline December 10, 2023).
