SPbPU and KRSU: joint work plans for 2025 for the development of engineering fields at KRSU
Polytechnic University continues active work on scientific and methodological support for the implementation of measures to improve the efficiency of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU) and to improve the main processes in KRSU within the framework of the development of engineering directions.
To agree on the plan of joint work for further modernization and quality improvement of engineering education at KRSU, the universities held a working meeting in VCS format on January 16, 2025. Dmitry Arseniev, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Lyudmila Pankova, Vice-Rector for Educational Activities, and Nikita Golovin, Head of the Project Office «Slavic Universities», Deputy Head of International Cooperation Department, participated in the meeting on behalf of SPbPU. From KRSU the meeting was attended by Acting Rector Sergey Volkov, Vice-Rector for Educational Activities Elena Devyatova, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology Nikita Komartsov and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Construction (FAD&C) German Lotsev.

During the meeting colleagues discussed the activities of the educational block and academic mobility block, which will form the basis of the updated SPbPU-KRSU Roadmap and will be implemented during 2025: the development of network master’s degree programs in engineering, expanding access to SPbPU resources for distance learning for KRSU students, launching a pilot project to introduce the course «Fundamentals of Project Activities» at KRSU and a number of other joint initiatives.

An important issue of the meeting was the discussion of opportunities for graduates of KRSU engineering bachelor’s degree programs to enter the master’s degree program of Polytechnic University through the quotas of Rossotrudnichestvo and the Open Doors Olympiad, as well as within the framework of network educational programs. As a result of the discussion it was agreed to implement three network programs of Master’s degree program in 2025/26-2026/27 academic years in the directions of Construction, Software Engineering and Transport Systems. Graduates of such programs will be able to receive three diplomas at once: Russian and Kyrgyz diplomas of KRSU and a diploma of SPbPU. The main purpose of this approach is to replenish the qualified personnel of KRSU, as graduates of joint network programs will be employed at KRSU in faculty positions.

A separate point of discussion was the academic mobility of KRSU students and faculty for internships and professional development at SPbPU. According to the plan for 2025, the number of KRSU students sent for semester study in SPbPU from 01.09.2025 will increase from 30 to 50 people. At the same time, 40 students will study in bachelor’s degree programs and 10 students will study in master’s degree programs.
