SPbPU and Nanjing University of Science and Technology strengthen their partnership
A delegation from Nanjing University of Science and Technology paid an official visit to Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University to develop the partnership between the two universities.
The Chinese guests were received by representatives of the SPbPU International Education Office: Deputy Head of the Office Tatiana Sytnikova and Head of the Department of International Educational Programs and Academic Mobility Olga Emelianova.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of joint projects. Special attention was paid to expanding academic mobility and launching new educational programs. Tatiana Sytnikova, on behalf of the university, noted the high level of training of Chinese students and expressed readiness to further deepen cooperation in the fields of engineering and digital technologies.
The colleagues from Nanjing met with Chinese students and postgraduate students studying at Polytechnic University. The young researchers shared their experiences and academic achievements at SPbPU.
The guests also toured the laboratory facilities of the Higher School of Cyberphysical Systems and Control and highly appreciated the equipment of the university’s centers and the research potential of SPbPU.
At the same time, at the Institute of Machinery? Materials and Transport of SPbPU, students from Nanjing University of Science and Technology underwent an intensive internship as part of the additional general education English‑language program «Advanced Technologies of Materials Processing». The participants attended a series of lectures and seminars on modern CAD/CAM/CAE systems in mechanical engineering, fundamentals of friction stir welding, wire‑arc additive manufacturing technology, surface roughness measurement methods, as well as physical and mathematical modeling. The practical part of the program included a visit to the advanced laboratory of lightweight materials and structures at SPbPU.
Based on the results of the visit and the internship, the parties confirmed their intention to expand bilateral cooperation, develop joint master’s programs and research projects, and increase academic exchanges of students and faculty.
