SPbPU and RAU strengthen cooperation in education and science

Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University continues to expand its strong ties with the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University (RAU), as evidenced by a number of fruitful events held in April and May 2025.

At the end of April, students of the Institute of Industrial Management, Economics and Trade (IIME&T) of SPbPU took part in the International Student Annual Scientific Conference organized by the Russian-Armenian University (RAU). The large-scale event brought together more than 400 young researchers from Armenia, Russia, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan who presented their scientific works in various fields of knowledge.

The peculiarity of the conference was the organization of sub-sections on the basis of IIME&T SPbPU higher schools. The Higher School of Engineering and Economics organized the sub-section «Sustainable Development of Socio-Economic Systems in the Conditions of Digitalization», the Higher School of Public Administration — «Public Administration and Economic Security», and the Higher School of Production Management — «Management». Both Russian and international students actively participated in the sub-sections.

In continuation of scientific cooperation, in late April SPbPU hosted a delegation from RAU. This visit became a new important page in the partnership between the two universities. The RAU delegation was represented by Mariam Voskanyan, Doctor of Economics, Head of the Department of Economics and Finance of the RAU Institute of Economics and Business, and Armine Aghajanyan, Candidate of Economics, Head of the Department of Tourism and Services of the RAU Institute of Economics and Business.

Within the framework of the visit open lectures were held. Mariam Voskanyan gave a lecture on «Globalization: consequences for financial systems at local and supranational level», highlighting the issues of financial globalization, its consequences and potential threats. Armine Aghajanyan presented a lecture on «Main Problems and Trends of Tourism Development in Armenia», providing an in-depth analysis of the current state and prospects of the tourism industry in Armenia, as well as possible solutions to the existing problems.

Another significant event within the framework of the visit was the solemn awarding of professional retraining diplomas for the program «Data Analysis in Digital Environment based on Python Programming Language», implemented on the basis of the Higher School of Engineering and Economics of IIME&T under the guidance of Associate Professor Evgeny Konnikov. Eleven students from RAU successfully completed the training on this demanded program.

The RAU delegation also took an active part in the opening of the 12th International Scientific and Practical Conference «Intelligent Engineering Economics and Industry 6.0» (IEEI_6.0 (INPROM)), held in SPbPU. Mariam Voskanyan made a report at the plenary session, and RAU students demonstrated a high level of preparation, taking prizes in the competition of scientific works held within the framework of the conference.

The final stage of the RAU rich visit to SPbPU was the participation of Mariam Voskanyan and Armine Aghajanyan in the professional internship on the program «Preparation for international professional and public accreditation in modern conditions», organized on the basis of IIME&T.

In recognition of the long-term and fruitful cooperation in the field of science and education between SPbPU and RAU, Mariam Voskanyan and Armine Aghajanyan were honored by the Director of IIME&T Vladimir Shchepinin, Director of the Higher School of Engineering and Economics Dmitry Rodionov and Director of the Higher School of Service and Trade Olga Voronova for their significant contribution to the development of international interuniversity cooperation.

This rich and effective visit was an important step towards further development of the relations between SPbPU and RAU, strengthening the existing cooperation and opening new perspectives for joint work in the future.

Arman Avetyan, Associate Professor of the RAU Department of Management and Business, visited the Graduate School of Production Management (GSPM) of IIME&T. The visit was full of events aimed at strengthening international partnership and exchange of scientific experience.

Arman Avetyan took part in the plenary session of the All-Russian scientific-practical and educational-methodical conference «Fundamental and applied research in the field of management, economics and trade», as well as spoke at the sectional session «Problems of management and sustainable development of sectoral complexes and industrial enterprises» of the GSPM industry cluster with a report on «Paradigm of urban development in the 21st century», which were held at Polytechnic University.

St. Petersburg amazes with its beauty and fundamentality, and Polytechnic University — with its hospitality and professionalism. This visit was not only a scientific and educational experience for me, but also a source of inspiration for further research, said Arman Avetyan.

The visit of the RAU Associate Professor became a vivid example of strengthening ties between scientific and educational centers of the two countries, contributing to the creation of new opportunities for students and teachers.
