SPbPU at the exhibition fair “Russian Education. Tashkent - 2024”
On September 20-21, Uzbekistan hosted the largest exhibition of Russian higher education organized by the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office. The participants of the exhibition fair «Russian Education. Tashkent — 2024» were representatives of 50 higher education institutions of Russia. The event attracted more than 4,000 visitors, including high school students and their parents, university students, representatives of schools, educational centers, recruiting agencies and media in Uzbekistan.
As part of the exhibition, representatives of Russian universities met with Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Pavel Shevtsov and Head of the Representative Office in Uzbekistan Irina Staroselskaya to discuss the quota admission campaign for 2024-2025 and attracting applicants from Uzbekistan to Russia.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Russian Embassy and heads of Rossotrudnichestvo.
The annual educational exhibition-fair is organized by the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office to show the potential of Russian education and unique opportunities for everyone who wants to know Russia better.
Polytechnic University was represented at the international fair by Maria Bocharova, Director of the Center for International Recruitment and Communications, Tatiana Sytnikova, Deputy Head of the International Education Department, and Kristina Lavrentieva, Manager of the Center for Work with Entrants. During the exhibition, the SPbPU mount was visited by more than 300 foreign applicants who asked questions about their future profession. Also present at the exhibition were bachelor’s degree students from universities in Uzbekistan, interested in master’s degree programs.
Polytechnic University annually takes part in the fall educational exhibition of Rossotrudnichestvo. Uzbekistan is traditionally one of the priority export markets for Polytechnic University’s educational programs. We pay great attention to the promotion of our university so that schoolchildren and students of Uzbekistan receive the most up-to-date information about studying at Polytechnic University on a budget: within the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation and through participation in the International Olympiad “Open Doors: Russian Scholarship project”, as well as on a contract basis

SPbPU employees provided detailed consultations on enrollment issues, told about training areas and opportunities for scientific and project activities. This year, applicants are most interested in IT, artificial intelligence, linguistics, construction and building design, law, design, economics and management, and biotechnology.
During the exhibition, the organizers also held a B2B meeting to discuss cooperation between Russian universities and educational institutions of Uzbekistan. University representatives emphasized the importance of creating a common educational space between the countries, including joint conferences, seminars and competitions.
Polytechnic University cooperates with many universities in Uzbekistan, including SamSU, TSTU, TSUE, KarSU, and FPI. This year, SPbPU Rector, Academician of the RAS Andrei Rudskoi met with the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Kongratbay Sharipov, at which the leaders discussed the work the university is doing to create joint network educational programs, professional development courses for faculty and staff, field modules of summer schools and scientific seminars.
During the exhibition Tatyana Sytnikova held a number of working meetings with the heads of Alfakom and General Lessons training centers to discuss options for career guidance activities, organization of preliminary entrance examinations, and assistance in profile training of applicants.
We would like to remind you that in the nearest future the selection and competition events for foreign applicants wishing to study at Polytechnic University free of charge at the direction of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation (according to the quota) in the next academic year will begin. On September 5, the first qualifying stage of the International Olympiad «Open Doors: Russian Scholarship project» was launched. Starting this year, the winners will be able to enter SPbPU’s undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programs without entrance examinations and study for free in the academic year 2025-2026.
