SPbPU Becomes a Participant of the III Russian-Kyrgyz Educational Forum

The III Russian-Kyrgyz Educational Forum, which brought together representatives of universities, government bodies, and businesses from the two countries, is concluding in Bishkek. A delegation from Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, led by Rector and RAS Academician Andrei Rudskoi, took an active part in the business program. Among the key results are the development of network master’s degree programs, the opening of a joint laboratory, and the conferral of the title of Honorary Doctor of KRSU upon the Rector of SPbPU.

The event began with the opening of the M. M. Botvinnik Chess Club. SPbPU, which is a member of the board of trustees of the Kyrgyz university, donated sets of chess pieces and chess clocks to the university. In honor of the opening, a «Blitz with the Champion» tournament was held between world chess champion and senator Sergey Karyakin and schoolchildren of Kyrgyzstan.

At the grand opening ceremony of the III Russian-Kyrgyz Educational Forum, the participants were welcomed by KRSU Rector Sergey Volkov. He emphasized that over three years the forum has moved to a practical agenda: Today it is especially important that the partnership of universities is not limited to agreements, but is embodied in joint educational programs, scientific research, academic exchanges, personnel training, and projects demanded by the economy and the regions.

During the opening ceremony of the forum, SPbPU Rector Andrei Rudskoi was awarded the title of Honorary Doctor of KRSU, which became recognition of his contribution to the development of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University and the Russian-Kyrgyz educational and scientific partnership.

The central event of the business program was a plenary session devoted to interaction between universities, the state, and industry. The session was attended by heads of leading universities and enterprises of Russia and Kyrgyzstan. Andrei Rudskoi delivered a report on the requirements of modern industry for engineering personnel.

Andrei Rudskoi and Sergey Volkov concluded two agreements on the network form of implementation of master’s programs in the areas of «Construction» and «Software Engineering.» Another trilateral agreement — with the participation of the company «Nanosoft Development» — provides for the creation of a laboratory of information modeling based on BIM technologies at KRSU.

During the forum, SPbPU Rector Andrei Rudskoi and Vice-Rector for International Affairs Dmitry Arseniev held talks with the leadership of Salymbekov University. The participants of the meeting noted the successful implementation of the joint educational program, the agreement on which was signed at the previous forum. This year, more than 20 students have already begun studying under it. The conversation also concerned the expansion of cooperation and new areas of training.

At the talks with the I. Razzakov Kyrgyz State Technical University, further cooperation on joint postgraduate programs was discussed, as well as the development of joint dissertation councils.

The business program continued with a panel discussion «Educational Navigator: Tuning Career Trajectories to the Requests of Industrial Partners and Regional Development,» moderated by Andrei Rudskoi.

Vice-Rector for Educational Activities of SPbPU Ludmila Pankova spoke about practical formats of interaction between the university and industrial partners.

The first day of the forum ended with the opening at the International Institute of Additional Education and Personnel Engineering of KRSU of the Network Laboratory of Applied Engineering Competencies for Technological Leadership, created by KRSU and SPbPU within the framework of a joint engineering track of additional professional education. Ludmila Pankova and Elena Averkova also presented certificates of advanced training to 472 students who had completed training under the joint programs of KRSU and SPbPU «Artificial Intelligence: from Fundamentals to Practical Application by Industry» and «Modern Neural Networks: Exploring Possibilities and Application.»

On the second day of the forum, Polytech took part in the educational exhibition of universities of Russia, where it presented its programs for teaching students.

During the visit to Bishkek, the SPbPU delegation, led by Andrei Rudskoi, honored the memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War by laying flowers at the memorial to the siege survivors of Leningrad in the D. Asanov Victory Park. In addition, the polytechnicians visited the monument to the writer Chingiz Aitmatov and his grave in the historical-memorial complex «Ata-Beyit.»

The III Russian-Kyrgyz Educational Forum became an important platform for the further development of SPbPU’s interaction with universities of Kyrgyzstan. Joint educational and engineering projects, academic mobility, and practical interaction with partners create conditions for expanding cooperation and training specialists demanded by the economies of the two countries.
