SPbPU held a video conference with Southeast University in China

SPbPU took part in a video conference with Southeast University, a leading Chinese engineering and technical university. The meeting was organized to further develop the Memorandum of Understanding signed during the visit of the official delegation of Southeast University to SPbPU.

Scientists from the Institute of Biomedical Systems and Biotechnology, led by Director Andrei Vasin, took part in the video conference. He presented the main achievements of the IBSB in the field of biomedicine and biotechnology, as well as research in the field of nutrition.

Chinese partners were represented by scientists from three schools (faculties): Life Sciences and Technology, Medicine, and Public Health.

Colleagues noted that many areas of work at our universities overlap, and the parties are interested in joint research and further exchange of experience.

The name of Professor Ilya Besprozvanny is well known in Nanjing, whose achievements in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases were noted by Professor Zhengping Jia of the School of Life Sciences and Technology.

The participants discussed topics of mutual interest and expressed their intention to develop scientific and technical cooperation in areas such as virology and influenza vaccines, drug delivery technologies, microfluidics, medical image processing algorithms, and neurodegeneration processes.

The second video conference is scheduled for March and will focus on automation, robotics, and artificial intelligence.
