SPbPU in the top 3 of THE ranking for engineering and physical sciences in Russia

The British agency Times Higher Education has published the results of the World University Ranking 2025 by subject area. The ranking is considered to be one of the most authoritative in the field of higher education and science. Experts compiled lists of the best universities in the world in 11 areas. St. Petersburg Polytechnic University took high positions in several areas, including engineering, business and economics, educational technologies, and physical sciences.

In the nomination «Engineering» the ranking includes 1488 universities representing 97 countries. SPbPU was ranked in the top 3 in this category among all Russian universities. In the world ranking Polytechnic University is located in the group of places 301-400. When compiling the ranking, experts evaluated universities in five main areas: engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical and aerospace engineering, civil engineering and chemical engineering.

Polytechnic University was also among the top 3 Russian universities in the subject area «Physical Sciences». In the world ranking in this discipline, the university ranks in the group of 176-200. In the subject area «Computer Science» Polytechnic University is among the top-5 Russian universities. In the world ranking in this subject area, 1122 universities from 83 countries are represented. In the world ranking Polytechnic University is in the group of places 301-400. Experts took into account the success of universities in software development and design, data science and analytics, cybersecurity, theoretical computing, etc.

We would like to add that Polytech was also included in the top 5 of the national ranking for pedagogical research and top 4 in the subject branch «Business and Economics».
