The first meeting of the Council of the Consortium of Educational and Scientific Organizations for the implementation of the Ambassadors of Russian Education and Science program was held this year. The program is aimed at promoting Russian educational and scientific organizations, achievements, and products in the world using the capabilities of international specialized and socially significant platforms. The participants discussed key areas of work, including adjusting the structure of the official website and the action plan for the year.

Dmitry Arseniev, Vice Rector for International Affairs, represented SPbPU at the meeting. His proposals for the modernization of the program’s digital resource formed the basis of the council’s final recommendations.

The key issue of the discussion was the architecture of the updated PRON website. The resource is planned to be divided into seven main blocks, including sections for candidates and current ambassadors, a news feed and a photo gallery. Dmitry Arsenyev’s initiatives to optimize the structure of the website have received the unanimous support of colleagues.

In addition, the council members considered extending the ambassadors’ terms of office from three to five years (the initiative is aimed at approval by the Ministry of Education and Science and the Russian Foreign Ministry), and also began analyzing the ambassadors’ reports for the past year.

The central event of 2026 will be the official ceremony of awarding the title of «Ambassador of Russian Education and Science.» The event is scheduled for October, by which time the Consortium should launch an updated version of the website, which will become the main platform for promoting Russian education in the world.
