In Yerevan, the III International Scientific and Practical Conference “Transformation of the Theory and Practice of Management in the 21st Century” was held, one of the co-organizers of which was Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.

Opening of the plenary session

The conference brought together scientists and experts from Russia, Armenia, Bulgaria and other countries to discuss modern challenges in management, the digital transformation of the economy and the development of human capital.

Rector of RAU Edward Sandoyan, opening the plenary session, noted that the spread of self-regulation, collective decision-making and new production models requires a revision of traditional approaches to management.

From SPbPU, the participants were welcomed by Deputy Director of the Institute of Industrial Management, Economics and Trade (IIMET) for International Activities Nikita Lukashevich and Director of the Higher School of Production Management (HSPM) of IIMET Olga Kalinina.

The scientific program included three sections: on the theory of modern management, on the management of business processes and public systems, and on digital transformation and the application of artificial intelligence. Participants discussed the impact of technology on organizational structures, human capital and managerial decision-making.

SPbPU teachers acted not only as speakers but also as moderators of scientific discussions devoted to theoretical and conceptual directions of modern management and digital transformation.

Within the framework of the conference, HSPM teachers presented the results of their own research. Nikita Lukashevich examined issues of human dignity and human-centricity of organizations, Timofey Dudnikov presented a model for managing organizational conflicts, and Anton Shaban investigated the segmentation of the power electronics components market.

Associate Professor of the Higher School of Service and Trade Alex Krasnov presented the report “The Role of Neuromarketing Research in the Paradigm of the Concept of Marketing of Influence.”

In addition to participating in the scientific program, Alex Krasnov conducted a master class for RAU students of the “Tourism” direction entitled “Determining the Consumer Characteristics of a Product Using the Kano Model.”

Business educational game “There Is a Contract!”

For the first time, the conference program included a youth round table “A Youth View of the Future of Management.” HSPM students Veronika Ruzhechko, Veronika Stepanyan, Vladimir Ande and Artyom Androsov presented studies on the effectiveness of high-tech production, the impact of generative AI on professional competencies and the branding of territories.

The practical direction of cooperation between SPbPU and RAU is developed by the International Management Festival, organized by HSPM IIMET SPbPU and the Department of Business and Management of the Institute of Economics and Business of RAU. Its events help students develop managerial competencies and master practical methods of management.

Within the framework of the festival, HSPM teachers Anton Shaban and Timofey Dudnikov held a business educational game “There Is a Contract!” at RAU. Students applied knowledge in the field of international management and practiced negotiation and teamwork skills. Under the terms of the game, they had to take into account the interests of different parties, build a negotiation strategy and find mutually beneficial solutions in situations close to real business practice.

The conference ended with a final session, during which participants summed up the results of two days of work and discussed prospects for the development of science and education. The discussion was moderated by Professor of the Russian-Armenian University Arzik Suvaryan. Representatives of the universities exchanged opinions on how the higher education system will change in the coming years, what competencies will be in demand among specialists of the future and how educational programs need to be adapted to new requirements.

Participants summed up the results of two days of work

Particular attention was paid to rethinking traditional teaching methods, finding new ways of transferring knowledge and training specialists capable of working effectively in conditions of technological and social change. The discussion allowed participants not only to sum up the results of the conference but also to identify key issues that universities will have to address in forming new approaches to management education.
