The BIG PhD 2025 grant competition for international graduate students has started at Polytechnic University

Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University is launching a new season of the Best International Grant for PhD (BIG PhD) 2025 grant competition for foreign graduate students. This is a great opportunity for young talents to gain recognition and support for their scientific achievements.

This competition has become an annual event at SPbPU and is held as part of the Priority 2030 technology leadership program. The country’s technological leadership begins with strong engineering personnel — this is the foundation on which innovation is built and real sovereignty is ensured. Universities, which train highly qualified specialists and create cutting-edge developments, are the key link in this chain. The BIG PhD is aimed at encouraging the most active and promising foreign postgraduate students in engineering and natural sciences. Participants are invited to demonstrate their scientific achievements: publications, participation in grants, READ, patents, presentations at conferences — everything that forms the basis of a successful academic career and leads to new applied research and technological discoveries.

Applications are already open and will last until October 15, 2025. The winners will receive not only honor and recognition, but also financial rewards — grants and awards from the university.

International postgraduate students, whose studies are ending this year, unfortunately, will not be able to participate. For everyone else, this is a chance to express themselves and receive additional support for their scientific initiatives.
