Turkish students choose SPbPU
Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University took part in the selection tests for Turkish citizens to study under the government quota for the opportunity to study free of charge in Russian universities. The selection events and the exhibition of Russian education timed to them were held at the Russian House in Ankara (Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in the Republic of Turkey).

In addition to Polytechnic University, more than 20 leading universities from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Saratov, Krasnodar and other Russian cities took part in the events. The visitors had a unique opportunity to get to know the universities better and personally communicate with their representatives.
At the selection events motivational interviews were held for more than a thousand candidates wishing to enroll in bachelor’s, master’s, postgraduate or additional education programs. During the interviews, applicants introduced themselves, described their interests, justified their choice to study in Russia and demonstrated their portfolios. The working group for the selection of candidates included representatives of the Russian House in Ankara, the Ministry of National Education of Turkey and Russian universities.
Along with the members of the commission, university representatives asked clarifying questions and talked to the applicants, who in turn had the opportunity to get feedback from Russian universities.
«Polytechnic University traditionally attracts interest among Turkish applicants and their parents, — summarized the results of the selection tests, summarized the results of the selection tests, Albina Bakurina, Deputy Head of the Department for Work with Foreign Students, representing Polytechnic University. «A large number of students seek to enter SPbPU and make a choice in favor of our university. They are attracted by the content of the programs, strong technical school, feedback from students and alumni, recommendations of their Polytechnic friends. The convenience of the campus, the proximity of dormitories to the academic buildings and infrastructure also play not the least role in choosing a university. And we also thank Russian House in Ankara for hospitality and high organization of events».
