Vietnamese teachers improved their competencies in the Russian language

At the end of June, the international program organized by the Higher School of International Educational Programs of Polytechnic University for teachers of Le Quy Don State Technical University (Vietnam) ended. Our universities have a long-standing relationship of trust. The agreement on comprehensive cooperation was signed in 2011 and renewed this year.

Polytechnic professors — Russologists, electronic engineers, computer specialists — have repeatedly conducted classes in Vietnam with undergraduate and graduate students of Le Quy Don University within the framework of the Vietnam-Russian University of Technology project. And now, after a break, our cooperation has found a new breath. The course «Methods of Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language for Special Purposes» was prepared and implemented by the teachers of HS IEP under the guidance of Associate Professor V. D. Gorbenko.

For four weeks, Vietnamese colleagues improved their Russian language skills in practical classes, as well as listened to lectures, participated in the discussion of methodological cases and created author’s teaching materials in the language of specialty at master classes. At the final round table, the trainees, summarizing the results and sharing their impressions, noted the high relevance and significance of such educational projects.

Developing and conducting educational programs for foreign colleagues-teachers is one of the important activities of the Center for Russian as a Foreign Language of the Higher School of Economics. Cooperation with the Le Quy Don State Technical University is a priority for our university and has great prospects.
