Visit of the SPbPU delegation to Algeria

A delegation from Polytechnic University visited the Houari Boumediene University of Science and Technology and the National Polytechnic School of Algeria. The delegation included Maxim Zalyvsky, Head of the Project Office of the Russian-African Network University (RAFU) Consortium, Alla Mazina, Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Department, Secretary of the RAFU Presidium, and Hamouda Khaled, Professor of the Graduate School of Mechanical Engineering at SPbPU.

The University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene, which has been a partner of SPbPU since 2023 and is also a member of the Russian-African Network University consortium, held talks on expanding cooperation with Vice-Rector for External Relations Shafa Azeddine and heads of nine faculties. They discussed with the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Technology, Bouzouan Belaid, and professors of the faculty the prospect of implementing a joint Master’s degree program «Quality Control».

Alla Mazina and Maxim Zalyvsky took part in the conference for students and professors of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Technologies «Russian education and opportunities to study in Russia and in SPbPU», where they told about what educational programs Polytechnic offers for foreign applicants, how to enter under the quota of the Ministry of Science and Education or through the International Olympiad Open doors and study for free.

The National Polytechnic School of Algeria held talks on the expansion of cooperation with the management led by the Director of the National Polytechnic School of Algeria and Abdelouab Mehaldi and Deputy Director of Doctoral Training, Research and Technology Development, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Iskander Jouani. The talks were followed by the official signing ceremony of the memorandum of accession of the National Polytechnic School to RAFU.

The delegation from St. Petersburg also had an opportunity to get acquainted with modern laboratories and training centers of the National Polytechnic School. This exposure to advanced scientific resources gave the visit participants an understanding of current research as well as opportunities for collaborative work and sharing of experience.

The visit of the SPbPU delegation to Algeria was an important milestone for the further development of science and educational relations, contributing to the establishment of a strong dialog between Polytechnic University and Algerian educational institutions. It is expected that such initiatives will not only strengthen existing ties, but also create favorable ground for future joint projects aimed at improving the quality of education and scientific activities.
