Wira Rizki from Indonesia: Open Doors provides an extraordinary opportunity

Wira Rizki studies at Institute of Industrial Management Economic and Trade. She tells us about her experience at Polytech.

— Why did you decide to study in Russia?

—In my view, Russia has very good education system. Historically, many scientists born in this country. I know some mathematical scientists like Chebyshev, Kolmogorov and Smirnov. They give a great contribution in science of Mathematics and Statistics. Of course, I have extra benefit in Russia, because I can visit many historical buildings and beautiful places like museum and beautiful natural tourism.

— Why did you decide to take part in Open Doors Competition?

For me the Open Doors competition is very interesting. I see it as a challenging competition process because I compete with people around the world with several quite difficult selection stages.

— What do you think about the Polytechnic University?

— Polytech is a great university. I am so proud for being a Polytech student. I am happy I can get new knowledge from professors here. They are very kind.

— What do you like in your program?

— I am PhD student of World Economy Program

— What are your favorite subjects at Polytech, and why?

— I like most of subjects, but I give more intention in world economy subjects because it is a new thing for me. I study about economics characteristics in around the world. It is very interesting. Basically, I finished my bachelor and master degree in Mathematics especially actuarial Mathematics.

— What are your plans for the future?

— In Indonesia, I am working at a university. After finished this study of course I will back to Indonesia for being lecturer again and continue the research that I did during being a PhD student in Polytech.

— What do you think about life in Russia, do you like it?

— Russia is a great country. I feel comfortable to live in Russia with cheaper living cost considered by living cost in west Europe. Russia has many good public infrastructures and transportation. We can go picnic to some beautiful places with low cost. It is so great and joyful.

— Will you recommend other students to take part in Open Doors Competition, and why?

— Yes, Open Doors provides an extraordinary opportunity for people around the world to gain a valuable education in Russia. Russia has many quality universities with a focus on various fields of science.
