Congratulations from Andrei Rudskoi, Rector of SPbPU on the Higher School Teacher's Day
Dear colleagues! On November 19, 2021, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation established a new professional festival — the Higher School Teacher’s Day. It was created in the Year of Science and Technology and on the eve of the Year of Teacher and Mentor in Russia. Such fact emphasizes the value and demand for teachers, as well as, their important role in the education of the youth.

During the overall history famous researchers working at the Polytechnic University have been outstanding teachers at the same time. Let us recall the names of legendary teachers: Ivan V. Meshchersky, Anatoly I. Lurie, Georgy K. Dondua, Anatoly A. Pervozvansky, Vladimir A. Palmov, Igor B. Chelpanov, Yuri S. Vasiliev — it will take hour to name all of them. The Polytechnic University has a tradition of on knowledge transfer from older generations to younger ones, and today students of those great teachers and mentors are working with us. We are proud of our prominent teachers and are happy to see how their young colleagues continue their work with enthusiasm and desire to encourage students to promote science and help them find their mission.
Higher school teacher is a profession that requires for many things: creativity, kindness, responsibility, and love.
Achievements of our teachers are marked by diplomas and awards of ministries and departments, executive and legislative authorities, local governments, etc.
Today our university employs 1949 teachers, 375 of them are Doctors of Sciences and 1028 PhDs. Dear colleagues, I express my heartfelt congratulations on the Higher School Teacher’s Day and wish you professional achievements, scientific discoveries, grateful students, as well as good health and well-being.
